Workstation Typicals
Value Engineering
As most of my career has been spent specializing in designing for RFPs and new business opportunities, I have extensive experience in creating unique and cost effective workstation typicals based on specific requirements. As an example, the images below represent different versions of a four-pack workstation group based on the same requirements listed in a bid request. By exploring different product lines, storage options, and accessories, each version provides options at a variety of price points. With my experience in workstation design, I can provide multiple options depending on whether your strategy is to provide a single cost-competitive solution that checks all of the required boxes at the lowest price, or to showcase a good/ better/ best selection that compares and contrasts various features and upgrades.
Simple Kit of Parts
As many of my design solutions incorporate vastly different workstation types based on the functional needs of each group, I often try to keep the ‘kit of parts’ as simple as possible to facilitate future growth and reconfiguration. The examples below represent workstation groups that I designed to be used by departments with completely unique work styles and privacy needs. I was able to limit the kit of parts to a single workstation partition size and the same storage and desk components for all of the stations, so the facilities team could easily order new components and reuse existing pieces to accommodate future growth and departmental changes.
