WELL Standard Training

Issue Analysis: The process to become a WELL AP is lengthy, and often focuses on complex scientific data that is not accessible or relevant for people outside of the engineering field. This barrier prevents many commercial furniture professionals from learning about the WELL Standard, and leaves them without the ability to make meaningful contributions to projects seeking WELL certification.

Learning Objectives: Introduce learners to a high level explanation of what the WELL Standard is, and focus on the individual features that they can directly contribute to on projects seeking WELL certification.

Audience: Commercial furniture professionals, including designers and salespeople

Content: 25 minutes of slides with visuals & audio + 19 question quiz

What is the WELL Standard?

The training begins with an introduction to what the WELL Building Standard is, how a project can qualify for WELL certification, and which professional disciplines are typically involved in the certification process.

Review of WELL Concepts

After reviewing the basics of what the WELL Building Standard is, the training then introduces the seven main WELL concepts. Each concept relates to a different aspect of the built environment that can affect health and wellness including Air, Water, Nourishment, Light, Fitness, Comfort, and Mind.

Real World Applications

Many of the features in the WELL Building Standard fall under the responsibility of other team members like Architects and Engineers, but there are a substantial amount that can be addressed directly by furniture professionals. Once the learners gain a general understanding of each of the 7 concepts, the training takes a deep dive into the specific features that they can address, as well as real work examples of products and strategies they can use.

 

Interactive Quiz

After reviewing all of the information in the training, learners are then presented with a 19 question quiz to test their knowledge.
